In addition to our Transitional Housing services we offer employment assistance services:
Employment
Our offices are located on the tenth floor of the I.W. Gernet Tower. It is staffed by a team of
employment specialists as well as a Representative from the Department of Labor and Workforce Development office who is on board several times each week to help place veterans with local companies and industries.
Our clients receive one on one pre-employment readiness training such as:
- Interviewing skills
- Resume Building and Writing
- Dressing for Success
- The Job Search
- Filling out Applications
- Developing Employment Histories
- Job retention
Our goal is Job Retention. We endeavor to place our clients in jobs that they are truly interested in. Our office is equipped with multiple phones, a copy machine and computers to aid them in the pursuit of gainful employment. Operation Stand Down is well known to Nashville and Middle Tennessee employers and they are more than willing to work with our agency to put United States Veterans back into the mainstream of society and to help to fulfill our vision to help veterans to reestablish community ties .
Other Services
Many of the services done at the Annual Outreach Event are done on a one to one basis throughout the year. Listed below are some of the services provided and the hours of operation.
